Rap recording artist or Sommelier? Why do sommeliers wear 'bling?'

Tags: tastevin, sommelier

That “bling” your sommelier is wearing is called a tastevin. It is a traditional accessory for sommeliers to wear and, while there is no formal process to obtain one, it is generally accepted as a symbol of authority—identifying the sommelier to restaurant patrons. Do not be surprised if your sommelier pours a sip out of your bottle into his tastevin. That is common practice. Click the above glossary term for more information.
