Régnié AC
[ray-NYAY]

The newest of the ten CRUS in France's BEAUJOLAIS region. In 1988, its status was upgraded from BEAUJOLAIS-VILLAGES AC. Régnié AC wines, which are made from GAMAY grapes, vary depending on the locale. The northern and eastern portions of the APPELLATION abut the MORGON AC, and the Régnié AC wines there are similar—BIG and RICH. In the southern portion, the wines are much more like its southern neighbors, the BROUILLY AC and the CÔTES DE BROUILLY AC—LIGHT and FRUITY.
