Rosé d'Anjou AC
[roh-ZAY dahn-ZHOO]
An APPELLATION for ROSÉ wines from the ANJOU region, which is in the central part of France's LOIRE Valley. These sweetish, pale pink wines are produced from the Cot (MALBEC), GAMAY, GROSLOT, and Pineau d'Aunis grapes. Although this appellation's production is one of the largest in the region, the wines don't have a great reputation. The CABERNET FRANC-based rosé wines of the CABERNET D'ANJOU AC from this same geographic area are more highly regarded.
