Rosé de Loire AC
[ro-ZAY duh LWAHR]

An APPELLATION that covers a wide area in France's LOIRE Valley including the subregions of ANJOU, SAUMUR, and TOURAINE. The Rosé de Loir AC is for wines made from a minimum of 30 percent Cabernet (usually CABERNET FRANC) blended with GAMAY, GROSLOT, Pineau d'Aunis, and PINOT NOIR. The wines are drier (see DRY) than the ROSÉ D'ANJOU AC wines produced throughout much of the same region.
