Roussette
[roo-SEHT]

Another name for the ALTESSE grape that's cultivated in southeastern France, particularly in the SAVOIE and BUGEY districts where the wines are, respectively, entitled to the APPELLATIONS Rousette de Savoie and Rousette de Bugey. Roussette is unrelated to ROUSSANNE with which it's sometimes erroneously associated.
