A DOC covering parts of the municipalities of Palmela and SETÚBAL in southern Portugal, which includes the former IPR, Arrábida. Palmela is known mainly for its deep full-bodied red wines made from the PERIQUITA grape, but it also produces some interesting white wines from the FERNÃO PIRES grape. See also TERRAS DO SADO.
