Pope Valley

Located east of Calistoga, California, this small Napa County growing area is somewhat hotter than the Napa Valley. The grape it does best with is SAUVIGNON BLANC, with SANGIOVESE on the rise. Other varieties planted here are CHARDONNAY, CABERNET SAUVIGNON, and MERLOT. Although not physically in the Napa Valley, Pope Valley wines are entitled to use "NAPA VALLEY AVA" on their labels.
