Overberg WO

A demarcated SOUTH AFRICA wine district located south and east of Cape Town along the continent's southernmost tip. Overberg is South Africa's most southerly growing area. It's also its coolest due to the maritime climate. Two wards, Elgin and Walker Bay, have been gaining particular fame for their endeavors with cool-climate varieties—CHARDONNAY, PINOT NOIR, and SAUVIGNON BLANC. Elgin sits up in the hills and is known for its Granny Smith apples. Walker Bay is on the coast close to the seaside town of Hermanus.
