Marcobrunn
[MAHR-koh-bruhn]
A famous EINZELLAGE located in Germany's RHEINGAU region between the villages of ERBACH and HATTENHEIM. Marcobrunn's 13 acres are actually situated partly in both of these villages. In 1971, however, a dispute was settled to the effect that all wines produced are attached to the village of Erbach and therefore labeled "Erbacher Marcobrunn." Wines from the Marcobrunn site are generally full-bodied (see BODY), fragrant, and long-lived.
