Morio-Muskat
[MOH-ree-oh MEWS-kat]
German white-wine grape—a CROSS of SYLVANER and Weissburgunder (PINOT BLANC)—that was created by Peter Morio. Morio-Muskat produces such exotically perfumed wines that only small amounts are needed to enrich the flavor and aroma of a blander wine. It's grown mostly in Germany's PFALZ and RHEINHESSEN regions and is used mainly in the production of less-expensive wines.
