Ladoix AC
[lah-DWAH seh-ree-NYEE]

Little-known APPELLATION that takes its name from the village of Ladoix-Serrigny, which is the northernmost in the CÔTE DE BEAUNE district of France's BURGUNDY region. Most of the wine produced by this area is either entitled to the CORTON GRAND CRU AC, the ALOXE-CORTON PREMIER CRU AC, or the CÔTE DE BEAUNE-VILLAGES AC. This means that only a small amount of wine is actually released as Ladoix AC. Wines from this appellation can be red, made with PINOT NOIR grapes, or white, based on CHARDONNAY. They're generally of satisfactory quality and well priced.
