Latisana DOC
[lah-tee-ZAH-nah]

Small DOC zone that is also known as Latisana del Friuli and that is located in the southern part of the FRIULI-VENEZIA GIULIA region in northeast Italy. It covers twelve VARIETAL WINES plus a ROSATO, all of which are regarded as fairly ordinary. The varietal wines are Cabernet (from CABERNET SAUVIGNON and CABERNET FRANC), Caberent Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, CHARDONNAY, MERLOT, Pinot Bianco (PINOT BLANC), Pinot Grigio (PINOT GRIS), Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso (REFOSCO), Sauvignon (SAUVIGNON BLANC), TOCAI, Traminer Aromatico (GEWÜRZTRAMINER), and Verduzzo Friulano. The rosé wine is made mainly from Merlot.
