lot #

1. Although it has no legal meaning, a lot # most often is used to differentiate wine from the same vintage that was bottled at different times. 2. This term is sometimes used to indicate that wine from the same vintage was processed differently. For instance, part of it could have been barrel-aged longer, aged in different barrels, and so on. 3. Lot # occasionally means that the bottled wine is a blend either of two different vintages or possibly of grapes from two different growing regions.
