Knights Valley AVA APPELLATION located in SONOMA COUNTY, California, just north of NAPA VALLEY, southeast of ALEXANDER VALLEY and directly east of the town of Geyserville. Although the APPELLATION designation wasn’t approved until 1983, BERINGER VINEYARDS has had vineyards here since the 1970s and has done well with CABERNET SAUVIGNON, MERLOT, SAUVIGNON BLANC, and SÉMILLON. The Peter Michael Winery was completed in 1989 and produces ESTATE-BOTTLED wines from Knights Valley vineyards.
