Hattenheim
[HAHT-uhn-hime]

A well-known wine-producing village located southwest of the city of Wiesbaden in Germany's RHEINGAU region. This beautiful village comprises a number of well-regarded EINZELLAGEN including the famous STEINBERG, considered one of the best in all of Germany. Even though the Einzellage Marcobrunn is partially in Hattenheim, a dispute settled in 1971 produced the result that all wines are attached to the village of Erbach and therefore labeled Erbacher Marcobrunn. Other notable Einzellagen are Engelsmannberg, Mannberg, Nussbrunnen, Schutzenhaus, and Wisselbrunnen.
