Green Hungarian
A white-wine grape grown in limited amounts in California. Green Hungarian's origin is uncertain, although there are suggested connections to AGOSTON HARASZTHY, a Hungarian count often referred to as the father of California VITICULTURE. Green Hungarian grapes produce pleasant but rather nondescript, neutral wines that are now sold by only a handful of VINTNERS. The best known of these is Weibel Vineyards, where Green Hungarian continues to be one of their leading sellers.
