Escondido Valley AVA

A VITICULTURAL AREA approved in 1992 in the Trans-Pecos region of west TEXAS just east of Fort Stockton. It covers approximately 32,000 acres in Pecos County. Cordier Estates/Ste. Genevieve, a subsidiary of French wine giant Domaines Cordier, is the largest wine producer in Texas. It farms just over 1,000 acres in this region and imports BULK wine from France’s vast LANGUEDOC-ROUSSILLON region and South Eastern AUSTRALIA, which enables it to produce more than 700,000 cases per year under the labels of Ste. Genevieve, Escondido Valley, and L’Orval.
