Ambonnay
[ahm-baw-NAY]
An important wine-producing village located in the Montagne de Reims area of France’s CHAMPAGNE region. Ambonnay, whose vineyards are planted with PINOT NOIR, is one of only seventeen villages to have obtained a GRAND CRU rating of 100 percent (see CHAMPAGNE for explanation of percent system).
