Arinto
[ah-RIHN-toh]
Cultivated in Portugal, this good-quality white wine is known for its high ACID content, even when grown in the hottest areas. A well-made Arinto wine can be very aromatic with a fresh citrus feature. Arinto is a recommended variety throughout much of Portugal. Many growers, however, prefer to plant higher yielding but lower-quality varieties. Arinto is also known as Pedernão.
