Auxerrois Blanc
[awk-sehr-WAH (oh-zher-WAH) BLAHN
A white wine grape grown primarily in France’s ALSACE region. The good-yielding Auxerrois Blanc produces a rather bland wine with high ACIDITY and high ALCOHOL. It’s most often used as a blend for EDELSWICKERS. There’s some confusion about its name because, in various locales, MALBEC is called Auxerrois, CHARDONNAY is called Auxerrois Blanc, and PINOT GRIS is called Auxerrois Gris.
