Badacsonyi
[BAH-dah-CHAW-nyih]

Hungary adds an i to the end of the names of its high-quality wine-producing regions, thereby identifying the wine’s source. Badacsonyi refers to wines coming from the Mount Badacsony area in western Hungary on Lake Balaton’s north shore. The best known of these wines is Badacsonyi Kéknyelu, made from the KÉKNYELÜ grape. Others are Badacsonyi Szurkebarát (PINOT GRIS) and Badacsonyi FURMINT.
