Beaumes-de-Venise
[bohm duh vuh-NEEZ]
A small attractive village in the southern RHÔNE best known for its sweet MUSCAT DE BEAUMES-DE-VENISE, a VIN DOUX NATUREL style of white wine. The red wines, made from CINSAUT, GRENACHE, SYRAH, and MOURVÈDRE, and bottled as Côtes Du Rhône-Villages AC wines, are generally good and hearty.
