Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet AC
[byan-veh-NOO bah-TAHR mohn-rah-SHAY]

A 9-acre GRAND CRU that is located in France’s BURGUNDY region and situated in the village of PULIGNY-MONTRACHET in the CÔTE DE BEAUNE. The vineyard is bordered on two sides by the larger and better-known BÂTARD-MONTRACHET vineyard. The wines from these two vineyards are often compared, although the Bâtard-Montrachet is usually considered superior. Still, the rich, flavorful Bienvenues-Bâtard-Montrachet wines, made from CHARDONNAY grapes, are among the world’s best white wines and are priced accordingly.
