Binissalem DO
[be-NEE-sah-lem]
Spanish DO located around the town of Binissalem in the center of the island of Mallorca (Majorca), which sits off the Spanish mainland in the Mediterranean Sea. This location has a very mild climate, cooler than the mainland, which translates to a longer growing season. A majority of the vineyards are planted with Manto Negro, a red variety that must make up at least 50 percent any DO wine.
