Cairanne
[keh-RAHN]
A small village in the southern portion of France’s RHÔNE region. It’s entitled to use the CÔTES DU RHÔNEVILLAGES AC, and wine labels usually also include the village name. These wines generally exhibit dark color, spicy fruit, and enough TANNINS to age well. The main grapes used are GRENACHE, SYRAH, CINSAUT, and MOURVÈDRE.
