vin gris
[van GREE]

French for "gray wine," but referring to very pale ROSÉ wines. Vin gris wines are produced in various parts of France and are made from lightly pressed red grapes (CABERNET SAUVIGNON, PINOT NOIR,or GAMAY), which are separated from the juice before much color is transferred from the skins.
