cépage
[say-PAHZH]
French for “grape variety.” In France, Vin de cépage is a wine labeled by its principal grape VARIETY, rather than by an APPELLATION CÔNTROLÉE. Historically, Vin de cépage has had a disparaging connotation. Cépages nobles refers to the NOBLE GRAPE varieties.
