Chablais
[shah-BLAY]

One of the three main growing areas in the Swiss canton of VAUD. Chablais is located just north of the canton of VALAIS and just south of the eastern end of Lake Geneva in the valley of the Rhône. It’s a white-wine area where the dominant grape is CHASSELAS (locally known as Dorin). This area’s best wines come from the villages of Aigle and Yvorne.
