Château-Grillet AC
[sha-TOH gree-YEH]
A celebrated vineyard located in France’s northern RHÔNE region. The 61⁄2-acre plot, which has its own APPELLATION, is planted entirely with VIOGNIER grapes. The MESOCLIMATE appears to be just right for this variety because some of the best Viognier wines are produced here. These DRY white wines have a floral BOUQUET, a hint of apricot in the flavor, and a spicy FINISH. Only a small amount is produced so these wines are generally expensive.
