Cheverny AC
[sheh-vehr-NEE]

An AC area located in France’s LOIRE Valley southwest of the village of Blois. It produces red and ROSÉ wines from GAMAY, CABERNET FRANC, and CABERNET SAUVIGNON and white wines from CHARDONNAY, CHENIN BLANC, and SAUVIGNON BLANC. Cour-Cheverny AC was established for white wines based on the local variety, Romorantin. These Romorantin-based wines are light, dry, and floral-scented.
