Trier

A city that has existed for over 2,000 years, with its wine-producing origins dating back to Roman times. It's located in Germany's MOSEL-SAAR-RUWER region along the Mosel River north of where the Saar River joins the Mosel. Trier, which is the largest and most important city in this region, is where many of the leading wine estates, like Bischöflichen Weinguter and Friedrich-Wilhelm-Gymnasium, keep their cellars. The city has nearly 1,000 acres of vineyards, which are included in the BEREICH of SAAR-RUWER and the GROSSLAGE of Römerlay.
