Saint-Amour AC
[san tah-MOOR]

The northernmost of the ten CRUS in France's BEAUJOLAIS region. Saint-Amour sits far enough north that it's the only Beaujolais cru extending into the MÂCONNAIS area. White wines from this area are entitled to the SAINT-VÉRAN AC, a Mâconnais APPELLATION. Saint-Amour is one of the smaller Beaujolais crus, making its wines more difficult to find. The wines, made from GAMAY grapes, are LIGHT, delicate, and fruity (strawberries, bananas, and peaches).
