Colli Euganei DOC
[KAWL-lee eh-yoo-GAH-neh]

A DOC area located southwest of Padova (Padua) in the south central part of Italy’s VENETO region. The area produces VARIETAL WINES plus a ROSSO and a BIANCO. The varietal wines are Cabernet (from CABERNET SAUVIGNON and CABERNET FRANC), CHARDONNAY, MERLOT, Moscato (MUSCAT), Pinot Bianco (PINOT BLANC), and TOCAI Italico. The Rosso is made mainly from the widely planted Merlot but can include up to 40 percent of other approved varieties. The Bianco is made from GARGANEGA, Serprina (PROSECCO), TOCAI FRIULANO, and other grapes.
