Corvina
[kohr-VEE-nuh]
This Italian red-wine grape is the principal ingredient in the VALPOLICELLA and BARDOLINO wines of the VENETO region. In both of these wines, Corvina is blended with Rondinella and Molinara to produce light-colored, light-BODIED (see BODY) wines that are characterized by a tart, cherry flavor and a slightly bitter almond character. This grape is also called Corvina Veronese and Cruina.
