Dirty Talk on Wine

Wanna Bet?

Posted 11/16/2006 at 04:13 PM by Dirk

Cold and tasty treat
Vanilla, chocolate, mint.
Sweet and rich to all.

December too cold
for such a delicious drink.
Hot cocoa instead?

Lets change the wager
to something warm and filling.
Something seasonal.

Pleased and full of joy
with your attempts to top me.
Shall we end this game?

  • After seeing comments ever so terse,
I must recommend you cease writing in verse.
But if a shake is due,
    Over a bet with you...
Then to Taylor's Refresher we shall traverse.

Is vanilla adequate to calm your soul?
Perhaps only chocolate can make you whole?
    Be adventursome with Mint Chip.
And Espresso Bean can be hip,
Just getting the right shake is the goal.

So Aaron, our bet will be settled later.
To your needs will Taylor's cater.
A noble prize you did achieve,
To hope for a repeat would be naive.
And my victory could be all the greater.

  • My stomach is empty,
    My blood sugar low.
    So stop writing in blogs,
Pay your debt, its time to go!

    Dirk Hampson
Few winemakers realize the opportunity to build a winemaking program from the ground up, living and growing with the vineyards over two decades. Dirk Hampson, director of winemaking and chairman at Far Niente, and sister wineries Dolce and Nickel & Nickel, counts himself among the fortunate. An enology graduate from the University of California, Davis, Hampson honed his craft at some of Europe's greatest properties, and was the first American to apprentice at Bordeaux First Growth Chateau Mouton Rothschild. Hampson returned to the US and was appointed winemaker at Far Niente in 1983.
