WineTasteTV Video Presentation:

Emmanuel Cruse, Chateau d'Issan

It was served at the marriage of Alienor d'Aquitaine in the middle ages, praised by princes in the 18th century, and the favorite of an Austrian emperor almost two centuries ago.  Now, Chateau d'Issan is considered a sexy and modern easy-drinking wine.  Emmanuel Cruse talks about his favorite vintage in recent history.

I really enjoyed this video. Can we see more videos with the host Ben Gilberti? Where could we buy these wines?

Yes - do these wines sell at Zachy's too? What is the link?

I think it's terrific that he makes these amazing wines, but has no trace of "wine snob" -- he just seems like a great, down to earth person. I also have a new appreciation for the art of the winemaker, something I didn't know much about before.

Romerlius from Meadowood rocks! I'm really interested in eating locally and pairing California wines with grown-here food, and he really explained why this works so well -- that eating local food with local wine almost always ensures perfect pairings because they share the same terrior -- makes perfect sense!

Thanks for featuring Emmanuel Cruse of Chateau d'Issan -- I had no idea the folks "down south" made anything other than terrific cheddars. I look forward to traveling to some of the state's farms this summer and sampling those great goat cheeses.
